When your rental agreement comes to an end, you have several options.

To make an informed choice and know the procedure to follow, read on.

What are my options?

  1. If you have received a return notice for your Nissan vehicle, you have several options. To find out which is the best choice in your situation, ask yourself the following questions:

    Did I use more than the mileage allocated to my contract?

    If you answered yes to any of these questions, it may be beneficial for you to keep your vehicle. In fact, a maximum number of kilometers are authorized on your lease. If you do not comply with this clause, you will have excess mileage charges to pay. If you are interested in purchasing your current vehicle, you will only have to pay the amount equivalent to the residual value, as indicated in your rental contract, as well as incidental costs, if applicable (sales tax, verification of safety devices and exhaust fumes, vehicle registration fees, etc.).

    If you just want to return your vehicle, or rent a new one, make an appointment with us. At HGregoire Nissan Blainville, our advisers will be there to hand over your vehicle, even if you have rented it at another Nissan establishment.

The refund of your security deposit will be made 15 business days from any of these dates:

  • Acknowledgement of the return of your vehicle;
  • Receipt of certified funds for the purchase of your vehicle.

Procedure

    About 30 days before your contract expires, you will receive a notice by mail. This will be the perfect time to schedule an appointment with your dealer.     An inspection will be made within 48 hours of the delivery of your vehicle. AutoVin, the inspection service provider contracted by Nissan Canada Finance, will check the wear and deterioration of your car; Nissan Canada Finance will use the standards they have established to compare results, and will contact you directly if there is excessive wear and tear. You will then have to pay additional fees.

    Six months before the end of your lease, you will receive, by mail, the wear and tear guide. In this guide, you will find the normal and excessive wear standards set by Nissan Canada Finance, so you can do the necessary checks. If you require assistance, visit your dealer to help you with these and to make sure everything is in order before handing over your vehicle.

    It is due 30 days before the end of your contract. If you have made any changes to your payments, contact our customer service at 1 800 268-6499 to confirm your last payment date. You may also have received a statement indicating an amount to be paid at the end of the lease; if so, contact us to settle it.
